Sonic Candy has hit the St. Louis alternative scene in 2010, they have proven themselves to be one of the areas strongest forces. Drawing influences from all facets of rock, punk, and indie, Sonic Candy is a powerful blend of well executed guitar harmonies, driving bass lines, powerful vocals, and hard hitting drums. Their first single, "Deepest Secret" was featured at the Lemp Brewery's New Year's Eve show in 2009, then was featured live on the radio at the Battle for Pointfest in April. They went on to win the poinfest battle and secured a spot at Pointfest June 6. The band also played and won a second Pointfest battle played the finals and won a slot at Pointfest August 29. This will be the biggest show for the band thus far. Sonic Candy is fueled by driven musicians. The band's music focuses on all the different aspects of life. Rather than adhere to one feeling their songs represent many feeling and the lyrics, as showcased in songs like "Breakdown," "Trigger," and " Radio Song", present Christi's messages on life choices, problems, and experiences people face. The emotionally charged vocals and lyrics are supported by Greg Dunn's songwriting. Bassist Terry and drummer Mattchew cover the rhythem section and Jamil Al-aseeri on shreds on lead guitar. Sonic Candy has also just finished in the studio and will later release their self titled debut album October 29th. While still following the traditions of rock Sonic Candy stands out and will continue to have a high regard for musicianship with an alternative rock formula.
